Terms of sale
Last updated: 1 November 2026
These terms cover buying Wake and using your licence. We’ve kept them short and plain. Please read them before you buy.
Who you’re buying from
Wake is made and licensed by Goose Farm Ventures Pty Ltd (ABN 62 703 431 136), a company registered in Queensland, Australia.
In these terms, “we” and “us” mean Goose Farm Ventures, and “you” means the person buying or using Wake.
Before you buy
Wake needs a Mac running macOS 14 Sonoma or later, with Apple silicon or an Intel processor.
You can try Wake free for 7 days, with no card and no account. The trial starts the first time you open Wake, and when it ends Wake asks for a licence key. Please use the trial to check Wake works well for you.
Wake can’t stop a MacBook sleeping when you close its lid, unless the Mac is connected to power, an external display and a keyboard (what Apple calls clamshell mode).
Buying Wake
Wake costs $9 in US dollars, once. The price includes any sales tax, VAT or GST that applies, and checkout shows the final amount before you pay.
Payments are handled by Stripe, using Stripe Managed Payments. With Managed Payments, Stripe (through its Link service) may act as the seller of record for your payment, so your receipt and card statement may show Stripe or Link rather than us. Stripe works out and collects any tax, and its checkout shows the payment terms that apply to the payment itself.
These terms cover Wake and your licence. We’re responsible for both, whoever processes your payment.
After you pay, we email your licence key to the address you gave at checkout.
Your licence
When you buy Wake, you get a personal licence to use it. Your licence doesn’t expire.
You can activate Wake on up to 3 Macs that you own or use. To move Wake to another Mac, choose Deactivate This Mac… in Wake on the old one to free its place. If you can’t, because a Mac was lost, broken or sold, email us and we’ll reset your activations.
Buying for a team or organisation? Email us about a team licence.
Your licence is for you. You can’t sell, give away or transfer it unless we agree.
We own Wake. You’re buying a licence to use it, not the software itself.
Things you can’t do
- Share your licence key, or use it on more Macs than your licence covers.
- Reverse engineer, modify or tamper with Wake to get around its licensing, except where the law allows it.
- Sell, rent, share or redistribute copies of Wake or anything inside it.
- Use Wake to break the law.
Updates
Your licence includes every update to Wake for as long as we develop it. No upgrade fees and no subscription.
We can’t promise to develop Wake forever. If we ever stop, Wake keeps working on the Macs where it’s activated, offline, because it checks your licence on your Mac rather than with us. We can’t promise it will work with future versions of macOS.
Refunds
If Wake isn’t right for you, ask for a refund within 30 days of buying it. No questions asked.
Reply to your receipt or email support@awakeforever.app, and tell us the email address you bought with. We’ll refund the full amount you paid to the card or account you paid with.
Once you’re refunded, your licence key can’t be activated again, and you agree to stop using Wake.
After 30 days we don’t give refunds for a change of mind, but your rights under the Australian Consumer Law still apply.
Australian Consumer Law
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
Nothing in these terms limits those rights, or any rights you have under the consumer laws where you live.
Our responsibility
Wake asks macOS to keep your Mac awake, but macOS has the final say. Your Mac will still sleep if you close a MacBook’s lid outside clamshell mode or choose Sleep from the Apple menu, and macOS may put it to sleep in other cases, such as when the battery is nearly empty. Please don’t rely on Wake alone for anything critical.
As far as the law allows, we aren’t responsible for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profits or lost data, and our total responsibility to you for Wake is limited to the price you paid. This doesn’t limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that can’t be excluded.
Third-party software
Wake includes open-source software made by others, each under its own licence. You’ll find them all under About Wake, in Wake’s menu.
Privacy
Wake has no account and no analytics. Our privacy policy explains the little it sends, and why.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If we do, we’ll change this page and the date at the top. The terms that applied when you bought Wake keep applying to that purchase.
The law that applies
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and the courts of Queensland can hear any dispute about them. If you live outside Australia, you keep any protections your local consumer law gives you.
